About us

Starting a business gets a guided path. Closing one doesn't.

Register a company and half a dozen platforms will walk you through it in an afternoon. Close one, and you're left cross-referencing ASIC forms, ATO guidance and old forum posts, hoping you haven't missed a step that comes back to bite you a year later. WindItDown exists to close that gap.

What we believe

Closing down isn't a failure. It's admin.

Most businesses that close aren't collapsing — they're finished. A project that ran its course, a pivot, a sole trader gig that became a full-time job somewhere else. The admin of closing properly shouldn't be harder than the admin of starting up was, and it shouldn't require a lecture on insolvency law to get through it.

So we built the guided version: tell us what you're closing, we tell you exactly what to do, in what order, with links to the real government forms — not a summary of them.

How we work

Two rules, held pretty strictly.

01

We only guide what's genuinely simple

Debt-free, dispute-free closures — sole trader ABN cancellation and straightforward Pty Ltd voluntary deregistration. That's the whole product surface, deliberately.

02

We say so the moment it isn't

Debt, disputes, insolvency risk, director penalty notices — the eligibility check is built to catch these early and route you to a registered tax agent, lawyer or liquidator, before you've spent time or money on the wrong pathway.

See it for yourself

Two minutes tells you which one you are.

Run the free eligibility check — there's no signup, and nothing is saved unless you decide to go ahead.
